James M. Kraft has dedicated himself to the field of public accounting since entering the profession in 1977, and has been a partner of Lindquist, von Husen & Joyce LLP since 1989. He specializes in not-for-profit, tax-exempt organizations, with an emphasis on affordable housing and social service agencies. Jim is an instruction leader for seminars and workshops for tax-exempt organizations, primarily connected to the affordable housing industry. He also develops and facilitates training programs for LvHJ staff, clients and strategic partners.
Jim took the path of public accounting after a college professor encouraged him to become a CPA. On the way to working as a private industry accountant, he was invited to join a sole practitioner as a partner. Over the next eight years he learned not only about public accounting but also business management and ownership. He performed peer reviews for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a national quality control assurance program for CPA firms, for more than seven years.

Jim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a past board president of an affordable housing real estate developer and current audit committee chair, and former board member of the California Society of CPAs. Jim is also on the Americas Board of BKR International, a worldwide association of leading accounting and business advisory firms. He is an active member of the Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California and the Southern California Association of Nonprofit Housing.
